I think you'll find the Mirage 5 had a longer, more pointed nose cone.

Re: Buccaneer Mk.2A which underwing weapons?
Hi all I'm not convinced that XV348 carried mantel missiles, as supplied in the Frog kit, Can I get away with two slipper fuel tanks on the inner pylons and SNEB rocket pods on the outer Pylons? This is Honington 1970. There are pics on the web of XV348 carrying slipper tanks and empty outer pylons...

Re: How do I improve the Frog Harrier Mk.1 Ground attack V/Stol?
I think I'd approach it by sanding a small flat area where the port goes, then glue on a piece of plastic card cut to the shape of the flange/plate that goes there. I'd probably just paint the actual camera window black. Good luck.

Re: Frog Hunter F1 as F5 34 Squadron, Suez
Great question but the only answer I can give is "because that's the way the RAF ground crew painted them on". In Operation Musketeer the stripes were painted on in the field and it seems the instructions must have been to NOT overpaint the roundels. In most cases, the underwing serial num...

This is the 60th anniversary of Operation Musketeer. Hunter F5 WP130 was with 34 Squadron and flew out of Cyprus during the campaign. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r296/dwomby/Models/Hawker%20Hunters/DSCN2603%20Copy_zpsfunuc27v.jpg http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r296/dwomby/Models/Hawker%20...

Seafire F45 from Frog Spitfire F14
This is only part Frog. It's the Frog F14 fuselage mated to the Hawk F22 wing and a Special Hobby F45 rudder (provided by a fellow modeller). The radiators were plunge-moulded copies of those in the Eduard F21 kit. Quite a hybrid but I am pleased with the results and the Frog wing will end up mated ...

Novo (ex-Frog) Super VC-10 as RAF K3 ZA149/H
I did this as part of a GB commemorating Operation Desert Storm. It is the Novo issue of the old Frog kit. Novo deleted all the lighting parts and issued it with BA decals. The basic shape, like many old Frog kits, was very accurate but some details were missing - notably the wing fences. The fit wa...

It was re-issued in the last decade or so by Maquette. That version can be bought for a lot less than the genuine Frog issues.

Pre 1973 builds
I recently explored a box still in my parents' attic. Based on the newspaper I found in the box, I packed these away in January 1973. Some are pretty awful (Stuka and Mosquito) but some aren't too bad. DH Comet (pretty sure this is the Frog and not the Airfix one) http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/...

Clear plastic spinner and prop disc?
I remember Frog's Spin-A-Prop kits but I also have a vague memory of a single engined fighter that came with a regular prop and spinner but also a complete one piece spinner and prop disc moulded in clear plastic. I think it even had some blurring effect on the prop disc. Does anybody else remember ...

I remember building it and I think it's probably still stored in a tea chest in my parents' attic in Scotland with my built models from 1968-1972.
I do remember several years before that, my Dad built me a 1/96 Frog Comet but that's long gone.

Newbie Joining - love old kits
I built Airfix Series 1 that I used to buy of a rack in Woolworths for 1/6d for several years then moved to Hawick in 1968 and was totally taken by surprise to find that there was another brand of kits - Frog. A local bicycle and sports shop had them in the back of the shop. I think the first I boug...
