Re: Seafire F45 from Frog Spitfire F14

I've just had a prowl at this Davis & what a beauty, real old style modelling at its best. In spite of the depredations of photobollox, I was able to view the pics by going view image on the evil icon & then when it loaded in the PB site, ctrl + F5 brought it up, works well. After that I did...

Stunning in every way Fred. One thing you show with the better & not so better (ie Skua) Frog models is that with careful modelling they can come up really well, to my eye anyways.

I recently tripped over this in a box under the stairs, supposedly a Novo repop of the Frog Whitley. Thankfully the plastic is better than the boxing. Crappy art work & crappy cardboard. :( I'm not sure what'll happen to this now the Airfix one is out. :? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y91/shi...

A huge improvement on the original Larry, just shows what can be done by generous applications of skill, maybe with some added determination. :D I've one of these in stock (or at least a frog spawn repop) but I think I'll stick with the AZ one for a finished article, even if the frog one is 'sposed ...

You thought it was expensive then, try looking on ebay & see what they go for now. :o I'd love to convert one of these to the proposed military tail loader, a kind of high winged Andover thingy, though that'd be sacrilege with a kit as rare as this. :(

Thats good advice from Larry, I use short lengths of paperclip inserted into 1mm holes for strengthening joins/ splinting broken axles etc & held in place with CA, works a treat.

I'll be interested to see how you progress on this, I've a Novo ( I think) Oxford kit, bagged with no decals or header & a crude indecipherable instruction sheet. I keep thinking I should invest in an AZ/Admiral one, but maybe, if you can show the way with this..... :)

Those are really nice Fred. I've seen most of them before on your website & really enjoyed them being a FAA nut myself. Out of all of them, the only real clunker to my mind is the Skua, even your skils can't disguise how awful this kit is. ;)
