Another of my favorite things

"F 138 South Goodwin Lightship" to give it is full name. A great model from Frog if you like ships. It is still available to this day from Eastern Express. It just goes to show how advanced Frog were. . With Model technology being what it is I am sure it would look great with a working rev...

Re: Bogus Frog kits

I know ! I wrote an article for Scale Models international about the problem a few years ago. I will try and get a pdf here. I was caught recently when I brought a Frog Oxford on Ebay and found a dark brown Soviet offering inside !! The worst example I have heard of was an Airfix Rotodyne in a Frog ...

I remember Mil-Slides well. Who else remembers BMW models and Bec Models? Sadly "Real Model Shops" are now few and far between. If you have a local shop please let us know they deserve our support.

Plastic Cement

An often overlooked aspect of Kit collecting is Cement & Paints. I have posted some examples of Polystyrene Cement (To give it is correct name) here. The first example is Frog and by the early logo used until 1963 I would date it from the 1950's to early 1960's. Note the address: International M...

A few of my favourite things...........

I make no apology for starting this gallery with Frogs super E-Type Jaguar. First released in 1964 and retailing at 19/11 (That's less than a pound in todays money) The E-type took pride of place in that year with over 20,000 selling in the first year. It did even better in 1965.All in all a super k...

Cornwall Aero Park Gannet AS4/ECM6

Between 1979 and 1983? Novo Russia supplied 1500 Gannet's to The Cornwall Aero Park at Helston. New decals were added as was the header which I suspect was printed in the USSR as it has that Soviet look and feel. Instructions were given on how to convert the model to the ECM version but no extra par...

An Interesting Sea Venom

The Sea Venom first appeared in 1973 together with two other Navy types the Swordfish and Avenger. On the demise of Frog the mould was passed to Novo and then the Suchuminstruments Plant in Suchumi USSR. I saw the Mould in Kiev recently and it now has been sent to Moscow and should re-appear soon. I Picked this Ark example of the Typhoon up at a kiosk on Kiev Railway station last week for 53 uah ( just under a fiver in real money.) According to Lines & Hellstrom (Frog Model Aircraft 1932-1976) This mould went to Tashtoys in Tashkent when it was still part of the CCCP. The quality of the p...

Just noticed on Ebay tonight two Venoms one at £39.99 buy it now and another at £3.50 with no bids.
