Seafire F45 from Frog Spitfire F14

Unread postby dwomby » Mon Apr 11, 2016 2:03 pm

This is only part Frog.

It's the Frog F14 fuselage mated to the Hawk F22 wing and a Special Hobby F45 rudder (provided by a fellow modeller). The radiators were plunge-moulded copies of those in the Eduard F21 kit. Quite a hybrid but I am pleased with the results and the Frog wing will end up mated to the Hawk fuselage to make a bubble-top F14 one day. Apart from the roundels, all the decals are homemade.

Seafire F45 LA488 568/LP 771 Naval Air Squadron stationed at RNAS Lee-on-Solent 1947 to 1950.

I've just had a prowl at this Davis & what a beauty, real old style modelling at its best. In spite of the depredations of photobollox, I was able to view the pics by going view image on the evil icon & then when it loaded in the PB site, ctrl + F5 brought it up, works well. After that I did view image again & after doing that on all of them I was able to enjoy the thread with all photos showing, just like the old days. The PB thing hasn't done sites like this any favours sadly, not having looked in a for a bit I can see its been pretty quiet.
